SPECIALISTS IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN KARNATAKA

Ayurvedic practitioners, local herbal healers in villages and tribal places, etc., are a valuable source of information on traditional uses of plants. Our team has consulted the following persons, who are practitioners in various areas of traditional medicine, in different, mostly rural, parts of Karnataka. Most of them were interviewed by Dr Sathanarayana Bhat. We have excluded several others from this list, on doubts of genuineness of the information given to us.

These local experts are well regarded by the communities in which they live, and were recommended to us, as sources information backed by expertise/experience.
